Gleeson Recruitment Group are excited to be exclusively supporting a high-growth and acquisitive manufacturing business in the Walsall area, who are looking to appoint a Group Finance Manager, in a newly created position.This position offers a real progression opportunity, as my client are succession planning for the future. A Director level role will be on the cards in the future.

This is a broad and strategic role that requires a hands-on approach to financial management, ensuring robust financial control and driving business performance.

Key responsibilities of the Group Finance Manager position:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust financial controls to ensure adherence to the latest financial reporting standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of statutory financial reports in compliance with relevant accounting standards and corporate governance requirements.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors, fostering strong relationships to ensure smooth audits and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Take full ownership of treasury management and banking operations, optimising cash flow and financial risk management strategies across the group.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns, while managing head office payroll to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement and development of key financial processes, including group reporting frameworks and KPI tracking to enhance business performance.
  • Leverage Power BI and other analytical tools to enhance financial reporting capabilities, providing actionable insights and support to international subsidiaries within the group.

Qualifications and experience required for the position:

  • A recognised accountancy qualification - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Significant experience in a senior finance role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Proficiency in financial ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
