Monday - Friday 8am-4:40pm 40hrs

Salary - £48,000-£60,000 - depending on experience

This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Design Manager to join their growing business. As a result of the business going from strength to strength, this is a newly created role and a brilliant opportunity if you are looking for a stable, long-term career within a reputable business. This business specialises in special purpose machinery, so you will ideally come from a similar background, and also have experience managing teams. This business also provides excellent opportunities for training, and the possibility of directorship in the near future.

Role Description

  • Responsible to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing the company's technical design response to all enquiries, calling upon technical and commercial contributions from office staff, and agreeing quoted prices and delivery lead times
  • Maintaining the company's relevant KPIs, aiming for reduction in manufacturing times and on-time deliveries
  • Review & Improve internal design systems & processes
  • Implementing more challenging design review processes
  • Support on site commissioning and customer FAT requirements
  • Staff development reviews and training requirements
  • Document and maintain paperwork in accordance with internal ISO procedures

Skills and Qualifications

  • Management experience with strong leadership skills.
  • Engineering and technical background, ideally worked with special purpose machinery
  • Working knowledge and understanding of machinery and safety standards
  • Project Management skills
  • Be an established engineer with a track record of customer contact, design and problem solving
  • Hold a relevant engineering Degree
  • 10 years' experience within a similar role
