This is a great opportunity to join a long established Midlands based manufacturer. The ideal candidate our clients seeks, is someone that has an extensive background in electrical/electronics manufacturing, who has the ability and leadership skills to take over the company as Manager, whilst the existing MD enters retirement.

Our client has been a specialist Lighting & Electrical products designer and manufacturer for a range of different blue-chip, public sector, & industrial OEM customers, for both the UK and International markets.

The future is looking very bright with the successful growth of both customer base & reputation, leading to being part of the future company ownership.

We need as much as possible from you to apply:

  • Experienced working as a Manager in a Manufacturing environment, within a similar industry electrical/electronics
  • Qualifications in electrical/electronic engineering - HNC upwards
  • Have a desire for personal growth and success
  • Experienced in managing a broad range of products, markets and customers
  • Able to get on with and manage people customers, staff, & contractors
  • Able to guide staff technically
  • Hold a UK driving licence, with access to your own vehicle

  • Possess the ability to look for further opportunities to drive the business forward
  • Experienced working to tight deadlines, seasonal projects etc
  • Good head for figures financially aware
  • Be IT familiar


What the role involves:

Leading a small team (approx. 20 employees) of engineers, accountant, sales staff and assembly staff. Your duties will include the following, but there will be a suitable handover & training period to suit, with the current MD.

  • You will be a factory key holder
  • Co-ordinate the daily production schedules with the management team
  • Assist with the ownership change via an EOT, & relocation into smaller premises
  • Management of all staff relations, supported by external help
  • Able to write tenders and proposals, and cost them
  • Liaise with our agent in China, and other key suppliers
  • Complete site surveys, pole structural testing and reports
  • Attend occasional customer site visits
  • Liaise with company external accountant and lawyers
  • Maintain the HEA and IS09001 registrations and Black Country Chamber memberships
  • Inputs to monthly Bank of England MPC surveys


Salary/hours:£45-50K depending on experience, working Monday to Thursday 8am 5pm and Friday 8am 1pm.
