Managing Quantity Surveyor

Red Sky Personnel is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure specialist. This company operates across water, transport, built environment, and energy sectors, delivering major projects nationwide.

The Role

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will lead commercial activities, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and project profitability. You will work closely with project teams, senior management, and stakeholders to drive financial performance and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial analysis.

     

  • Manage subcontract procurement, negotiations, and financial agreements.

     

  • Ensure compliance with NEC3 & NEC4 contracts and construction law.

     

  • Oversee cash flow, payment applications, and final accounts.

     

  • Lead and mentor commercial staff, ensuring best practices in cost management.

     

Key Requirements

  • Extensive construction industry experience.

     

  • Strong knowledge of NEC3 & NEC4 contracts.

     

  • Proven commercial management and cost control expertise.

     

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

     

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial reporting tools.

     

Desirable

  • RICS membership or working towards it.

     

  • HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying.

     

  • Experience working for a direct delivery contractor.
