Empowering Learning are seeking a confident Cover Teacher to support some of our specialist Primary and Secondary Schools in Walsall. As a Supply Teacher in our specialist provision schools, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education for our students. You will be called upon to cover short-term and long-term absences, bringing your expertise and enthusiasm to our classrooms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and adapt lessons to meet the needs of the pupils individual needs.
  • Ensure a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment for students to thrive.
  • Promote learning and engagement.
  • Implement effective behaviour strategies in lien with school expectations and polices.
  • Collaborating with Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers and School Administrators to make sure students are safe.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with special educational needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
  • Flexibility and reliability to work on short notice and adapt to different school environments.

Desirable:

  • Additional qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN).
  • Experience with specific interventions or therapeutic approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, Makaton).
