My Walsall based Fabrication client are looking for a Welding Coordinator to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

Duties will include:-

  • Reviewing welding requirements & selecting suitable weld procedures
  • Work with production staff to ensure the suitability of welders allocated to each project
  • Front line inspections at fit-up stage
  • Monitor the welding system by performing random checks on welding parameters, pre-heats etc.
  • Final weld inspections
  • Maintain welder repair matrix
  • Inspect all welding operations taking place and check welding standards are maintained
  • Issue weld procedures
  • Review and manage non destructive testing requirements on all projects.
  • Issue post weld heat treatment procedures
  • Manage subcontractor non destructive testing personnel
  • Issue out and maintain weld cards
  • Maintain weld maps
  • Populate document and certificate packs with welding related information - register and record all weld consumable certificates
  • Control consumables through the stores
  • Monitor the calibration and maintenance of welding and heat treatment plants
  • Welding stores maintenance / records / temperature recording
  • Specify and order welding consumables
  • Periodically review and manage welder qualifications
  • Correct any quality problems

Key Skills:-

  • Essential you have an industrial welding background
  • Responsible Welding Coordinator (RWC) qualification would be advantageous
  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player
