An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Tier 1 contractor working on a portfolio of highways infrastructure projects. Based out of our Cheshunt office in Hertfordshire, this role offers hybrid working with two days from home and three days split between the office and on-site locations.

About the role of Quantity Surveyor:

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in overseeing costs and contracts across multiple highways infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all financial and contractual aspects of the projects are effectively managed. This role is ideally suited for a Quantity Surveyor with experience in the highways sector and a strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks.

Responsibilities for Quantity Surveyor:

  • Managing and forecasting project costs to ensure financial efficiency
  • Collaborating with the project team and client to maintain budgetary control
  • Administering NEC contracts and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations
  • Conducting site visits and meetings to monitor project progress
  • Preparing and negotiating final accounts
  • Supporting project teams with financial and contractual advice

Requirements for Quantity Surveyor:

  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC form of contract
  • Highways sector experience is preferable
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with on-site and office teams
