We are looking for an Finance Officer to work for a small family run construction company. This position can be 3,4 or 5 days per week, and will be based in their office in Walton on Thames.

You will need to have XERO Finance systems experience and excellent EXCEL.

Your duties:

  • Process purchase and sales ledger transactions and perform reconciliations.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with month-end processes.
  • Post journal entries for accrued and prepaid expenses.
  • Prepare and distribute client sales invoices.
  • Support the preparation of VAT returns and payroll processing.
  • Purchase and sales ledger processing and reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.
  • Month-end process completion.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports.
  • Reconcile general ledgers accounts to supporting spreadsheet analysis.
  • Post journal entries for accrued and prepaid expenses.
  • Produce and analyse financial reports, including project and timesheet data.
  • Liaise with project managers on invoicing and financial aspects of projects.
  • Maintain accurate drawdown and approval records.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts to supporting documentation.
  • Support credit control and aged debt management.
  • Assist in balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide support with answering telephone.
  • Highly organised with attention to detail.
  • Able to work unsupervised and liaise with external accountant.
  • "Hands on" and "can do" attitude.
  • GSOH is a MUST!
  • AAT/CIMA/ACCA or QBE
