Operations and Compliance Manager – PART TIME (3 DAYS PER WEEK)Salary - £30,000 - £40,000 (NOT PRO RATA)NORTH SURREY   A fantastic, leading firm in North Surrey, known to us as a client for many years are keen to add an experienced Operations and Compliance Manager to their already impressive team. Based in well-equipped offices in an impressive setting, close to commuter links, the Operations and Compliance Manager will benefit from working with a cohesive team of Partners, Fee Earners and Accounts to deliver a high quality of a full range of Operations and Compliance Manager duties near North Surrey.  Duties and responsibilities of the Operations and Compliance Manager:
  • Create and enforce policies for effective data management – ensuring accuracy and legitimacy of data.
  • Analyse data to provide insight and support decision-making processes within the firm.
  • Develop and oversee data security measures to protect sensitive information, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain and improve database systems and software applications
  • Regularly review operational processes to ensure efficient and effectiveness across departments.
  • Monitor and analyze operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with departments to understand their data needs and operational challenges.
  • Facilitate training for staff on data management and compliance practices.
  • Serve as a point of contact for data and compliance related inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and industry standards related to data management and privacy.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with data handling and operational processes.
  • Overall responsibility for the management of the firms complaints procedures including corresponding and dealing with clients, third parties and the Legal Ombudsman.
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Regulations Authority (SRA) requirements
  • Maintaining the firms Lexcel accreditation ensuring the firm is compliant for its annual inspection.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee compliance and operational projects from inception to completion.
 Skills Required:
  • Proven experience in a compliance, data management and operations role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Analytical thinker, with good communication skills and the ability to articulate reasoning clearly and succinctly using data to make informed decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.
  • Proficiency in data management software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, spreadsheets, database management systems).
  • Ability to use own initiative – a pro-active self-manager who can manage their own workload, identify areas for improvement and drive projects forward.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR and AML.
  • Knowledge of legal industry practices
