The 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged child with ADHD and ASD. You'll be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support that helps the child thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

? Provide 1:1 support to a child with ADHD and ASD, ensuring a structured and engaging learning experience.? Use positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging behaviours in a calm and patient manner.? Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the individual needs of the student.? Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to implement EHCP targets.? Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for the child.

What We're Looking For:

?? At least one year of experience1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant working with children with ADHD, ASD, or challenging behaviours.?? Experience in KS1 or KS2 settings (mainstream or SEN schools).?? Ability to de-escalate challenging situations and provide emotional regulation support.?? Passion for working with neurodiverse children and helping them reach their full potential.?? A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting SEN students.

�? Desirable:

  • Experience working in an SEN school with primary-aged children.
  • Previous experience supporting students working towards the KS1 or KS2 curriculum.
  • Team Teach or positive handling training (desirable but not essential).
