Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant


Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire
Contract Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Salary: 85-100 per day

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support SEN students in an inclusive primary school where every child is supported to reach their full potential. The school are dedicated to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports all learners, including those with special educational needs.


As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, both on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and provide feedback on pupil progress.
  • Support pupils with their emotional, social, and academic development.
  • Collaborate with the school's SENCO and other staff to ensure all pupils' needs are met.

About You
To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Be available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
  • Have experience working with children with special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
  • Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills.
  • Be passionate about supporting children's learning and development.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
