Accountable Executive is partnering with a dynamic and rapidly growing organisation in Warrington, seeking a highly skilled Group Financial Controller. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial operations, reporting, and governance across the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency at all levels.

As Group Financial Controller, you will have full accountability for managing the financial integrity of the business, playing a key role in shaping its strategic direction and supporting its ambitious growth.

Remuneration:

  • £115-130k (DOE)
  • Bonus up to 20%
  • Office based working

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of financial statements (interim and annual) in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and other applicable regulations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy.
  • Spearhead the creation of the annual "glossy" report, reflecting the group's financial success and future potential.
  • Maintain and enforce robust financial controls and governance procedures, protecting the company's financial assets and minimizing risks, including fraud prevention measures.
  • Oversee the consolidation of group accounts for both management and statutory reporting, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of reports.
  • Take a proactive role in the budgeting and forecasting process, offering financial insights to support key strategic decisions across the organisation.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a small but high-performing team of financial professionals, offering guidance, training, and career development.
  • Take charge of external reporting, technical accounting, and statutory processes, ensuring the accurate production of the group's annual report and other external reporting requirements.
  • Deputise for the CFO as required, stepping in to support leadership and maintain financial operations.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You will be a qualified ACA/ACCA accountant with proven experience in PLC reporting or similar high-level financial environments.
  • Your ability to manage complex financial processes, coupled with strong technical accounting expertise, will enable you to thrive in this dynamic role.
