Accounts Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join an established organisation in the Warrington area. This role involves maintaining supplier records, processing invoices, managing queries, and taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience, proficiency in Sage 50, and excellent knowledge of MS Office Excel.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Handle supplier invoice queries via email and phone.
  • Prepare supplier payment runs and key in purchase payments from the bank to Sage, sending out remittances.
  • Enter new suppliers onto Sage 50 and the internal system.
  • Keep supplier records up to date and reconcile supplier statements to the ledger.
  • Investigate and resolve queries related to non-payment of invoices.
  • Process and reconcile invoices, manage customer credit limits and insurance limits, and communicate with the insurer and customer.
  • Complete CIS Returns and send statements to subcontractors.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and process them on Sage 50 and the internal system.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous use of Sage 50.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
  • Accurate, efficient, and organised with the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Professional and approachable with excellent communication skills.
