Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to oversee and manage the groundworks package for an industrial extension project. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, surveying, and ensuring that all works are completed to specification, quality standards, and project deadlines. Additionally, they will provide guidance and support to the groundworks ganger and operatives, ensuring smooth coordination of site activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out & Surveying: Accurately set out and level the site using Total Station, GPS, and laser levels.
- Technical Support: Provide clear guidance to the groundworks ganger and operatives, ensuring correct interpretation of drawings and specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct checks on concrete, drainage, foundations, piling, and other groundworks elements, ensuring compliance with design requirements.
- Health & Safety: Promote and enforce site safety protocols, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- Progress Monitoring: Track project progress, report issues to site management, and assist in problem-solving to maintain schedules.
- Material & Subcontractor Coordination: Assist in managing material orders, deliveries, and liaising with subcontractors to ensure seamless site operations.
- As-Built Records: Maintain accurate site records, including as-built drawings, redline markups, and daily reports.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven background in civil engineering, particularly in groundworks (foundations, drainage, piling, earthworks).
- Qualifications: HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field.
- Setting Out Skills: Proficient with Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD.
- Site Experience: Ability to liaise effectively with site teams, subcontractors, and project management.
- CSCS Card: Essential.
- SMSTS/SSSTS & First Aid: Desirable but not essential.
