Commercial Manager

Role and Responsibilities
Working closely with the lead PM to ensure the contract requirements are adhered to.
Providing guidance on commercial and contract matters during delivery phase to Lead PM and
OL operations.

Contract commercial duties including:
  • Lead in all contractual communications between the Client, attending stakeholder meetings as required
  • Oversight and input during project delivery phase; Management of contract variations, contract amendments rate adjustments etc
  • Provide advice and support to the PM during project delivery and liaise with OP legal for advice if required
  • Working with the PM, Cost Engineer and Project Controls to support the management of financial aspects of the contract
  • Lead contract discussions with Suppliers and monitor supply chain performance;
  • Support to contract KPIs including performance of key suppliers
  • Attend regular project team meetings and client contract meetings as required to provide commercial/contract management representation and support.
  • Attendance at in-house project review meetings with key stakeholders and report/update on contract matters.
  • Support to tender activity as required.
Person Specification

Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret information and data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and build effective relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
2+ years of NEC forms of contract (NEC 3 / 4 PSC and ECC).
2-5 years experience in areas of commercial management, project management and contract delivery, preferably with exposure to the nuclear or engineering sectors.

Additional information -

The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK, and be willing to obtain SCclearance.

Job Context & Challenges:

Close working relationships with other sites and client sites may be required, which necessitates regular travel to those sites (dependent upon project).

Additional Information & Benefits:

  • Full-time, permanent, 37-hours a week
  • Travel may be required on occasion between offices and Client sites
  • Hybrid working 2 days minimum in the office each week, flexible working
