This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a medium sized global company in their finance team based in Warrington, reporting directly into the Credit Manager. The role purpose is to manage the credit control activities for the whole business, managing 500 live accounts ranging in values.

The role will be in a small but friendly team and will be taking ownership of the full credit control process, so a proactive, self-starter is needed for the role, especially as it will be working from home for the next few months.

Description

Key responsibilities of the Credit Controller include:

  • Manage the AR ledger for the engineering business including performing all normal sales ledger and credit control duties
  • Chasing invoices via phone and email in a timely manner
  • Run credit reports for new and existing customers as required and provide guidance on credit terms to Sales and Operations teams
  • Reconciliation of accounts and cash allocation
  • Prepare and provide ad hoc reports on the status of assigned accounts
  • Liaise with Sales and Operations teams to improve communication with Finance and develop better control framework
  • Dealing with disputes/query resolution
  • Negotiate payment terms with customers
  • Manage and mitigate credit risk by developing new and existing credit control policies to bring them up to date
  • Liaising with internal/external management
  • Running weekly aged debt reports
  • Setting credit limits with customers and carrying out financial checks on customers

Profile

The successful candidate would have:

  • Minimum 1 years-experience in a similar role, preferably in a business with international operations
  • Good GCSE's (especially Maths and English)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience with Excel and ERP Systems, particularly SAP/Oracle/Aggresso
  • Solid understanding of double entry accounting
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and comfortable with working in a small, dynamic team
  • Self motivated and proactive

Job Offer

Ideally the Credit Controller will have experience in a sole role and be immediately available. The role will be initially 3 months on a temporary basis but with an excellent chance of going permanent. The credit controller should have international experience and a good understanding of all types of clients and collection experiences, having used large ERP systems.
