A global leading manufacturer of complex solutions to the aerospace and defence sectors has a new vacancy for a Senior Materials Engineer. Working as part of the global engineering team you will play a key role in ensuring critical products and components meet with industry requirements and candidates are sought with a good understanding of metallurgical testing & analysis within a highly regulated environment (aerospace, automotive, defence, energy, etc).

Key Responsibilities

Work as part of the global engineering team to qualify, approve and specify materials and processes to meet with customer and industry requirements.

Perform metallurgical testing, failure analysis, and evaluations to support production and quality assurance.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on superalloys and processes.

Develop and refine procedures in line with NADCAP and industry best practices.

Support root cause investigations for material and/or process issues.

Assist in material selection, specification reviews, and new process developments to meet evolving industry demands.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance material performance and manufacturing efficiency.
Work closely with internal and external suppliers on quality issues.

The Person

A degree (or equivalent) in Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, or a related field.

Experience in an operational metallurgy role within a highly regulated industry (aero, defence, energy, etc).

Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

Practical experience with metallurgical laboratory testing.
