About the Company:An established and expanding accountancy practice in Warrington is looking for a motivated and experienced Client Manager / Accounts Manager to manage a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional who enjoys client interaction and is ready to take on a leadership role within the firm.

The Role:As a Client Manager / Accounts Manager, you will oversee client relationships, ensuring their accounting needs are met with the highest standard of service. You will manage a team of accountants, ensuring the delivery of accurate financial reporting and compliance, while offering strategic advice to help clients grow their businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact for all accounting and financial matters.
  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns for clients.
  • Reviewing and approving the work of junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Providing clients with proactive advice on tax planning, business strategy, and financial performance.
  • Managing client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Conducting regular meetings with clients to discuss their financial performance and offering tailored advice.
  • Supervising and mentoring a team of junior accountants and providing training and development support.
  • Ensuring all deadlines are met for accounts, tax, and other filings.
  • Assisting with business development activities, including onboarding new clients and participating in networking events.
  • Monitoring client budgets and timelines to ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients, with a strong focus on client service.
  • Solid knowledge of UK GAAP, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
  • Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach, with a passion for helping clients grow their businesses.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
