In this role, you will be a key member of the accounts team, supporting the finance department and the wider business by delivering accurate and timely financial insights to guide strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Accounting Manager with the day-to-day management of the finance function.
- Act as a finance business partner to the IT and Marketing senior leadership teams.
- Oversee the preparation of management accounts, including journal reviews and approvals.
- Manage and mentor a team of three direct reports, supporting their growth and development.
- Provide clear financial analysis and reporting to stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Play an active role in the annual budgeting process.
- Identify opportunities to streamline internal systems and processes, driving efficiency.
- Support internal audits, compliance checks, and business projects as required.
- Step in to cover the Accounting Manager when needed.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in finance and team management. To excel in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience:
- Strong financial modelling expertise.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including macros and Power Automate).
- Experience in managing and coaching junior team members.
- Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification
- High-level IT skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Access.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Experience in designing and implementing incentive schemes is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Effective time management and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
