Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Credit to lead their finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the overall improvement and profile raising of the department.

You will be responsible for all aspects of credit control operations, acting as a mentor to team leaders and playing a key role in business engagement on credit matters. The successful candidate will have a strong commercial acumen, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record in driving collection teams.

As the Head of Credit, you will be part of the Finance Leadership Team, contributing and delivering initiatives leading to the overall improvement and profile raising of the department.

Your role will involve leading all aspects of Credit Control operations under your remit within the department. You will act as a mentor to the Team Leaders, playing a key role with the business on credit matters. Your responsibilities will also include driving improved debt collection within your team, ensuring that credit policies and processes are understood and adhered to.

  • Lead all aspects of your team management including performance reviews
  • Set team and individual targets for your team on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Act as a point of escalation for Credit Control Team Leaders & its other direct reports
  • Deliver regular monitoring of accounts and ledger reviews
  • Drive target delivery of your credit control in line with the department's aspirations
  • Ensure credit policy & processes are understood and adhered to
  • Minimise bad debt exposure & write off by agreeing payment plans with customers
  • Represent the department across the business

As the Head of Credit, you bring flexibility, positively, and a desire to develop both your career and those of your colleagues. You have at least two years' experience in a similar management role, with a proven track record in driving collection teams. Your experience includes dealing with a wide range of customers and senior internal stakeholders within a credit environment. You are highly motivated, proactive, enjoy leading and working in a team while taking full ownership and accountability for delivering results.
