We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Private Client Solicitorto join areputable legal firm. Who primarily advises individual clients and families on legal matters related to estate planning, including wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney (LPAs), court of protection, inheritance tax planning, and probate administration, often focusing on managing high-net-worth individuals and their assets.
It is essential that they have strong professional qualities, an exceptionally caring approach to clients and colleagues, with teamwork at the heart of how they like to work. They should be keen to be known, valued and trusted.
The candidate will ideally be STEP or Asociation of Lifetime Lawyers accredited
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and advising on wills, trusts, and lasting powers of attorney.
- Managing probate matters, including estate administration and inheritance tax planning.
- Advising clients on wealth management, succession planning, and asset protection.
- Handling Court of Protection matters and deputyship applications.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships through excellent communication and service.
- Keeping up to date with changes in private client law and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Working collaboratively within the team and supporting junior colleagues when necessary.
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) withIdeally 5 years +PQE.
- Proven experience in handling private client matters, including wills, probate, trusts, and tax planning.
- Strong knowledge of inheritance tax laws and estate administration.
- STEP qualification (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent drafting skills.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to business development.
