KONE currently have an exciting job opening in our Lift Modernisation team. We are calling for applications in North West, North East and Yorkshire, the role is going to cover North and Midlands area with occasional travel up to Scotland.

We are looking for a Lift Engineer who has strong passion for the lifts industry and experience in repairs, service or installation.

Key accountabilities at the role:

  • Complete lift modernisation and repairs to the highest standards on site.
  • Follow Health and Safety rules and guidelines from a site and company point of view; recognise, identify and report potential health and safety issues in the workplace.
  • Work with a variety of schematic Diagrams/drawings and manuals.
  • Fill out all relevant documentation and send in in the required time frames; use mobile phone apps to carry out tasks and submit relevant jot forms and paperwork.
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and professional manner; be organised and able to communicate and work safely on the same site or project with other contractors.
  • Be responsible for every 3rd party item involved in the project, i.e., hired equipment, containers, skips, porta loos and Tool kits.
  • Be open to undertake 3rd party training that has a direct impact on our work; be open to undertake site training for working in specialist environments.
  • To have good problem-solving skills, be able to reach out for help and guidance to resolve the issue successfully.

To qualify for this vacancy, we would expect you to have:

  • NVQ3 in Lift Engineering
  • Experience in repairs, service or installation
  • Strong customer skills
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge
  • Collaboration and be able to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to adapt to situations and environments
  • Be able and willing to try to do the work to the best of your ability
  • Desire to develop their skillset in Lift engineering to potentially become NVQ4 qualified tester/technician
