You will drive engineering excellence by providing hands-on support to the specialist paint teams for new product launches and engineering changes. Ensure seamless manufacturing readiness while continuously enhancing productivity. Lead the charge in driving continuous improvement initiatives and innovation within the paint department. Play a key role in technical feasibility studies, FMEAs, equipment verification, and safety assessments to uphold the highest operational standards.
CORE SKILLS
- Champion the implementation of best practices across manufacturing areas in line with industry standards.
- Proactively support the 8D problem-solving process to address and resolve customer concerns effectively.
- Lead the integration of the internal process during New Product Introduction to optimise performance.
- Drive 5S initiatives to maintain a world-class working environment.
- Identify and recommend capital expenditure projects while supporting their seamless on-site execution.
- Collaborate with shift leaders to define and implement Standard Operating Procedures for production operators.
- Spearhead process improvement efforts focused on cycle time reduction, manpower efficiency, and enhanced process capability.
- Innovate technical solutions to overcome manufacturing challenges and optimise operations.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and industry-specific standards (BS/EN).
- Continuously seek opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiencies.
- Take an active role in leading Continuous Improvement Process initiatives.
- Provide expert support for production transfers across plants and sites.
QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
- Degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience would be an advantage.
- Strong understanding of plastics manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, painting, and assembly.
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment.
- A track record of success in a similar role.
- Automotive industry experience is desirable.
- Knowledge of 5s and 8d methodology
