As a Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer, you will engage in diverse UK-based projects, from client consultancy to delivering comprehensive engineering design solutions. Your responsibilities will include client interaction, preparing bids and proposals, and overseeing project delivery in line with our standards for quality, safety, and environmental care.

Our multi-disciplinary nuclear team has been delivering solutions across the nuclear sector for over 50 years. We prioritise safety, manage potential risks, and focus on sustainable delivery and social value. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Mechanical Building Services design & engineering, including design documentation and substantiation.
  • Develop and review design strategies for HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Implement sustainable and energy-efficient design practices.
  • Perform technical audits and peer reviews of engineering designs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
  • Mentor and train junior members of the MEP team.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum HND level qualification, preferably a relevant engineering degree.
  • Chartered Engineer with membership in a relevant professional body.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Experience in specification writing, calculations, and developing designs.
  • Knowledge of IES and AUTOCAD.
  • Management experience in leading teams or functions.
  • Successful delivery record, including client interaction.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and assist with business development.
  • Knowledge of electrical building services design is a plus.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector, including new build and decommissioning projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
