Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Project Controls Manager, to be engaged on a permanent basis in Cumbria or Warrington.

The role
An experienced Project Controls Manager is required to manage a team to deliver all aspects of Cost, Planning, Estimating and Document Control Activities in support of the Programme Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for ensuring that all cost and schedule reporting is aligned to the Contract and commensurate with Contractual Obligations
  • Responsible for ensuring that Contract specific project control procedures are developed and implemented
  • Ensuring that project objectives are fully understood by the Project Controls Team highlighting schedule and cost management requirements
  • Responsible for preparing resource profiles and resource managing the project control team including the management of recruitment, mobilisation and demobilisation requirements
  • Monitors both schedule and cost reports and relating conclusions such that management control action is alerted in a timely manner
  • Responsible for holding regular progress and coordination meetings with project control staff across the project.

The ideal person

  • To be successful you will need to have experience and extensive work history of managing project control & programme delivery on large complex construction projects.
  • You will need to have a strong understanding of the NEC3 ECC suite of contracts.
  • The scale and complexity of our projects mean that you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders so it's important that you have excellent communication skills. It's also key that you have good leadership skills and able to develop a high performing team.
  • Educated to degree level or above and hold a project control/management qualification such as APM.
  • Experience of working in Nuclear or a highly regulated environment is nice to have but if you are new to the industry and have the relevant skills and experience then we would love to hear from you.
