We are currently hiring for a Category Buyer to join a world-class procurement partner who delivers professional procurement services for the private and public sectors as they are currently expanding their procurement team.

The Role
As a Category Buyer, you will assist the Senior Category Manager in overseeing and administering designated business areas, to increase managed spend and provide exemplary procurement services to both internal and external clients. In this role, you will be responsible for executing compliant end-to-end procurement processes, implementing and managing supplier and member contracts, and analyzing statistical and financial data within your category. The position also involves building strong relationships with suppliers and customers, as well as implementing and managing contracts with a focus on delivering commercial value and enhancing customer benefits.

As a Category Buyer you:
Will Deliver tendering and other procurement processes in line with both departmental and category targets and required EU regulations, ensuring tendering timetables for the category are adhered to.
Will develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of customer requirements from the outset and provide strategic advice to support their objectives.
Will offer regular input to the Procurement Management team.
Will develop and maintain continuous engagement with suppliers on behalf of the organisation and its customers, including management of projects with suppliers, leading supplier review meetings, and handling disputes.
Will prepare reports for internal use as well as for members and suppliers.
Will Maintain the commercial and operational performance of each contract within the assigned category, with particular emphasis on customer retention, growth in spending, revenue, and trading customers.

To be a successful Category Buyer you will:
Have strong planning and organization skills.
Have the ability to develop knowledge of framework procurement activity, tendering, and contracting processes.
Have an eye for detail whilst working in a fast-paced environment.
Have strong planning and organization skills.

Have effective communication skills via telephone, emails, reports, and site visits as appropriate.
