My client are a UK leading building envelope and facades contractor who supply and install cutting-edge glazing and cladding systems to a number of leading main contractors across the country. Projects they work on include commercial, student accommodation and high-rise residential schemes, education, healthcare, hotels, and leisure.

They're now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their business and work on a range of exciting projects across the North West.

As the Quantity Surveyor, your duties will include:

  • Measure and assess quantities of materials and labor required, as well as work completed, for accurate billing.
  • Prepare cost reports, financial forecasts, and updates for project stakeholders, including cash flow projections.
  • Assess the financial implications of design changes or variations and update budgets and contracts accordingly.
  • Track the progress of work on-site to ensure it aligns with contractual timelines and budget.
  • Identify, assess, and manage financial and contractual risks, including potential claims and disputes.
  • Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications to the main contractor, ensuring prompt payment.
  • Assist in resolving disputes related to costs, valuations, and contract terms.
  • Manage payments to subcontractors, ensuring they align with the agreed schedule and work completion.
  • Handle final accounts, including the settlement of claims, retention release, and final payments.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
  • Degree qualified in quantity surveying/or similar (HNC, etc) (Desirable)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
