Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a Warrington-based (WA2) single-form entry primary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint a motivated and experienced higher-level teaching assistant for a full-time temporary contract. This is a varied role consisting of general classroom support and PPA cover.Your new roleAs a higher-level teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting both KS1 classes (key stage 1), working alongside the class teachers to promote a stimulating and engaging learning environment for all pupils. You will aid in general classroom and behaviour management by utilising an array of learning equipment to aid in attainment outcomes and implement a myriad of positive behaviour strategies. For 3 full days and 2 mornings, you will support your pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis by holding interventions and booster sessions in core subjects (numeracy, literacy, and phonics), including intense sessions within a separate classroom for lower/mixed ability pupils, with the remaining 2 afternoons consisting of PPA cover.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable school experience within the last 2 years, preferably KS1 and/or KS2, as well as:

  • Be at least NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualified
  • Have experience delivering intervention and booster sessions
  • Have experience delivering PPA cover
