Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated "Good" Warrington-based SEN school as they are looking to recruit a motivated and experience teaching assistant for a long-term full-time contract starting after the Easter holidays.Your new roleAs a teaching assistant within this school, you will be supporting pupils across KS2 - KS4 (key stages 2 & 4) on a 1:1 and group basis. As you will be working within a SEND school, you will be required to take a pupil-centred approach as to ensure that each pupil's individual EHCP, attainment needs, and personalities are met, which will in turn enable you to build strong constructive relationships. You will work alongside class teachers to provide a stimulating, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all pupils by utilising an array of learning equipment and aiding in general classroom management. You will offer intervention and booster sessions in all core subjects, including group sessions to lower/mixed ability pupils. As you will be supporting SEMH and behavioural needs, you will also be required to follow the schools behaviour policies and implement an array of positive behaviour strategies including DOJO, reward charts, traffic light systems, sensory play/rooms, de-escalation and regulation.What you'll need to succeedTo be considered in your application you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referencebale experience supporting children or young people between the ages of 5 - 17 in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • Experience supporting SEN (preferably SEMH, behavioural needs and/or trauma)
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle is advantageous
  • An NVQ Level 2 Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
