We are supporting with their search for a confident and driven Assistant Accountant to join their supportive, fast paced finance team. This role will give you the opportunity to expand your knowledge, train junior members of the team and offer support with your further studies. This opportunity would be ideally suited for someone with previous experience in accountancy practice.This position offers a salary up to £35,000 per annum.Responsibilities Include:
- Month, quarter and year end close and full reporting in a timely manner.
- Monitor and control company cash position including looking after payments.
- HMRC reporting - VAT returns etc.
- Full balance sheet support and reconciliation.
- Manage the year end statutory accounts and audit process via external accountant/auditor.
- Supporting junior members of the finance team with training and development.
- Taking on other ad hoc duties required across the department.
- Able to identify opportunities and drive change across the finance function.
- Able to demonstrate commercial acumen and identify new business opportunities
Candidate Attributes and Skills:
- Experience with producing full accounts and reporting.
- Confident communicator and able to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Organised and uphold high attention to detail.
- Avid problem solver and can deliver practical solutions.
- AAT qualified or nearing completion, or studying CIMA/ACCA.
- Strong Excel skills are essential in this role.
