Joining them in supplier quality you will help set strategy within their supply base and monitor, assess and control supplier output quality ensuring minimal disruption to core production. In times of absence you may also cover for quality management.
Further responsibilities will include:
- Managing the supplier approval process and introduction
- Support of development and corrective action resolution activities
- Ensure that non-compliance occurrences are constructively managed to achieve long term resolutions
- Manage audits and construct documentation to maintain and update conformance
- Process PPAP reports
- Manage new product introduction
- Represent supplier quality in key project activities

To carry out this role they are seeking an experienced quality engineer with a background working in an assembly/fabrication environment. You must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- HNC/HND or degree qualified in a related subject such as quality management or mechanical engineering.
- Further qualifications related to quality systems such as TS16949, ISO9001, APQP etc
- Experience introducing new suppliers and or sub-contractors
- Knowledge of FMEA, quality plans, control plans and feasibility
- Experience in corrective action resolution using methods such as 8D, A3 or 5 whys
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Proficient in the use of measuring equipment
