An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Finance Manager to join a leading organisation in the manufacturing industry. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to take their career to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for key activities within the business, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting results. They will also play a crucial role in various project work to support the operating model. In addition to primary financial activities, the role includes acting as a Pension Trustee, ensuring compliance and accuracy in all related matters.

Responsibilities of the Finance Manager

As a Finance Manager, your role will be pivotal in strengthening the finance team. You will be responsible for managing daily operations, including coaching and developing your team members. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to use as you review internal controls and resolve any deficiencies. You'll prepare monthly management accounts for the group and ensure that all reporting is accurate and timely. Your ability to communicate effectively will be essential as you liaise with various departments to improve processes and implement changes where necessary. You'll also have an opportunity to showcase your strategic thinking skills as you're involved in discussions on the strategy of the Finance team within the Business.

  • Daily management of the Finance team including coaching & development
  • Preparation of Monthly Management accounts for the Group
  • Review internal controls related to IKCQ questionnaire and resolve deficiencies
  • Support, prepare & partner actions of reports such as the Annual Operating Plan
  • Ensure mid-monthly reporting is communicated accurately & challenged where applicable
  • Produce Management information to support the Monthly Business Review (MBR)
  • Develop & build out commercial reporting into BI reports
  • Improve reporting efficiency through Ad Hoc reporting from One Stream
  • Preparation & approval of Balance sheet accounts
  • Ownership of Statutory accounts for all Group accounts including Tax packs

What the successful candidate will bring

  • Qualified Accountant CIMA or ACCA and/or 5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge and ability to implement and maintain internal controls
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills
  • Understanding of the business partnering model - flexing & providing situational skills - Controllership & compliance for the business
  • Experience of management accounts
  • Experience of leading and supporting a team
  • Good questioning, listening & communication skills including interpersonal relationships
  • Well organised & thorough including good administration & record keeping
