The Opportunity:Nigel Wright Group is delighted to have been retained, to lead the search for a UK Business Development Manager for e-Power.  This is a newly created position to support the strategic growth ambitions of the Company.About e-Powere-Power runs online auctions which offer electricity generators access to the whole of the national electricity market, whilst providing electricity buyers with an easy route to purchase renewable energy.  The Company is well established in its market, is highly profitable and is now entering the next phase of its strategy.  The leadership team is looking to build on its already strong customer base over the next few years and to drive further growth.Role Profile:
  • The core focus will be to undertake proactive business development activities to generate new prospective renewable generator customers to on-line auction platforms.
  • Generating customers and sales of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Renewable Certificates, primarily in the renewables generation markets.
  • Pro-actively managing and developing relationships with generators, sellers and buyers (including electricity supply companies).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify and target potential clients.
  • Identify new opportunities and customers using data sources and market mapping approaches.
  • Focus on brand building to enhance market awareness, leading to increased lead generation. 
Person Specification:
  • Experience generating new PPA customers and / or trading in the electricity industry.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the UK power market including renewables.
  • Culture fit and a natural proactive business development methodology is important.
  • Circa two days per week in the office in the North East would be preferred, so the North East / Yorkshire would be a good home location.  A more southern based hire, with strong relevant industry sector experience, would also be considered.
  • Whilst the above criteria would be preferred, other types of B2B solution sales experience, with pricing complexity, would potentially be relevant and of interest.
