Role Overview:
A leading facilities management company is seeking an enthusiastic and capable individual to join the Data Centre Shift Team. This team provides technical support for all critical infrastructure during planned and reactive tasks, ensuring high levels of availability for the site.

Role Duties / Responsibilities / Accountabilities / Deliverables:

  • Conduct and record preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis of critical plant and equipment.
  • Support and facilitate subcontractors/vendors during planned, reactive, or project tasks while ensuring compliance with site procedures and safety documentation.
  • Monitor, maintain, investigate, and acknowledge the BMS and SCADA systems.
  • Perform daily site checks, proactively repair defects, and maintain plant rooms in a clean, tidy, and safe condition.
  • Rectify and record defects through the helpdesk to ensure SLA timeframes are met.
  • Provide rapid and effective responses to customer and helpdesk requirements.
  • Review subcontractor competencies before authorizing work permits.
  • Ensure compliance and escalate any issues that affect the availability, health and safety, and security of the site.
  • Adhere to all company and Critical Engineering Management policies.
  • Maintain water systems and records in accordance with L8 legislation.
  • Provide innovative solutions and recommendations to improve processes, building, plant, and systems.
  • Develop relationships with the client and assist with audit teams as required.

Candidate Profile:

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Good knowledge of generators, cooling systems, and UPS systems.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license.
  • Technical qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • Able to organise and manage own workload.
  • Positive proactive attitude with the ability to take ownership of the site.
  • Awareness of site criticality and work risks.
  • Good administrative skills with Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good understanding of LV distribution systems.

Desirable:

  • Critical site experience or data centre experience.
  • HV AP15 certification.
  • Knowledge of CMMS.
  • L8 Certification.
  • Experience working a shift pattern before.
