A superb opportunity for a Client Accountant to join a modern and forward thinking Accountancy practice. This would be ideal for a highly motivated and experienced Accountant with previous experience of managing and developing their own portfolio of client accounts. The practice have created an inclusive and supportive working culture and are passionate about their clients, building their services around them. The role is based at the practice’s modern offices in Waterlooville, easily commutable from Portsmouth and Southampton and comes with flexible working option.

Reporting to the Accountancy Manager you will be responsible for the preparation and submission of accounts and tax returns for clients, preparation and review of book-keeping and VAT returns, assessing and advising clients on their tax position, reviewing the tax efficiency of clients, liaising between clients and HM Revenue & Customs to resolve queries and ensure all internal and statutory deadlines are met, you will also prepare and attend year-end client meetings as required.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience.

  • Previous experience within an Accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of managing end to end accounts
  • Fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, AAT) 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Being able to work to tight deadlines both internally and externally (HMRC).
  • Advanced of MS Office in particular Excel 
  • A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable).
