Our construction clients based in Hampshire have an exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.

The main duties of the Quantity Surveyor will be as follows:

  • Seek to minimise the cost and risk of a construction project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required legal standards and quality.
  • Prepare forecasts, estimates and costs of the work when the project is in progress, keep track of variations to the contract that may affect costs/time and create reports to show profitability.
  • Be involved in every stage of the project from preconstruction to final account from a commercial aspect.
  • Client engagement, attend meetings, produce and agree valuations and cash flows when required.  Identify and price variations and agree with client QS.
  • Procure subcontractors, negotiate price, produce order, management of SC from first contact to final account including payments and variations, production and agreement of final account

Ideal skills & Experience:

  • Ideal experience working with end users
  • Verbal and written communication, including ability to listen to determine client needs, communicating them to the construction crew and preparing reports
  • Numerical and data analysis skills
  • Customer service for client satisfaction
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Understanding of engineering science, construction and technology
  • Understanding of current building, health and safety regulations

Working hours: Mon – Thurs 08:00am – 5:00pm – Friday 08:00 – 4:00pm

Working hours will depend on if you are out visiting site, or office based. Travel to site will be required.
