Area Sales Manager / Watford (South of England) / Competitive Pay & Car Allowance

Our client is looking for a dynamic Area Sales Manager ideally located in the Watford area to expand their market presence and manage key client relationships in the Southern Region of the UK, along with some international coverage.

Key Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager:

As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of the business, working with distributors, EPCs, and direct clients to drive sales and deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Presenting world-class product range and capabilities to clients and stakeholders.
  • Managing and growing key accounts within your designated territory, working with OEMs, end users, and engineering contractors.
  • Selling to instrumentation and piping engineers, as well as key buyers to secure new business and maintain strong relationships.
  • Coordinating RFQs through to POs, ensuring seamless communication with internal teams.
  • Analysing competitor activity and working with management to develop strategies to stay ahead.
  • Securing product approvals at key target accounts, ensuring they remain the supplier of choice.
  • Delivering a customer-focused approach, ensuring client satisfaction at every stage of the sales process.

Skills & Experience:

  • A background in mechanical engineering (preferred but not essential).
  • Proven experience in technical sales, with a strong sales track record.
  • Hands-on commercial experience in an engineering or technical sales role.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
  • A proactive, goal-oriented mindset, always seeking new business opportunities and ways to improve performance.
