About the Role:

TimePlan Education is looking for a dedicated Sports Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary SEN school in Watford. This is a full-time role with the opportunity to become a permanent position. As a Sports TA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in their sports activities, while also providing general support in other areas of the school when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the delivery of sports lessons and activities tailored to the needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
  • Support students in their personal development and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to provide classroom assistance in various subjects when required.
  • Help manage and support students with potentially very challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience or knowledge of working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable managing and supporting students with potentially very challenging behaviour.
  • Passionate about sports and supporting students in their physical and emotional development.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to adapt to different situations and challenges.
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
