Accounts Payable Manager - 12 month FTC
Watford £50-55kHybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days at home Managing a small team
- Oversee the accounts payable team, daily maintenance and updates of the purchase ledger.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Manage AP mailboxes, ensuring a consistently high level of service.
- Ensure invoices are accurately coded.
- Handle the fortnightly payment process.
- Process manual payments through the online banking system.
- Post manual payments to the system and allocate accordingly.
- Take responsibility for employee expenses, ensuring compliance with company policy.
- Perform aged creditor reconciliations.
- Resolve any issues related to invoices and payments.
- Assist with the month-end closing process.
- Support with ad-hoc accounting tasks as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an AP leadership role, with the ability to efficiently use financial software and systems.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to staff at all levels.
- Experience in processing high volumes of transactions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and VAT principles, ensuring accurate VAT return preparation.
- Self-motivated and determined, consistently meeting service objectives within deadlines.
- Strong time management skills to organise and prioritise tasks, handling workload fluctuations effectively.
