NLB Solutions are working exclusively with our client in Watford recruiting for a new Finance Director. This role will report directly into the board and require someone able to deal with reporting at that level. With an existing team in place which deals with the main stay of preparation of all accounts and reporting, this role is strategic and commercial in essence. The business operatewithin the financial services sector and require someone who understands "warehouse financing" as this is a niche within their industry. In this FCA regulated environment the business requires the successful applicant to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).

The business are looking to relocate from their existing site to more modernoffices,although they will be remaining in Watford. They have a large parent company which offers support to this division in terms of strategic and operational solutions if required. However, with an existing senior management team who have been in place for many years, there is much knowledge and support in-house.

Duties:

  • Maintaining and developing robust financial controls by developing and implementing accounting strategies, policies and procedures which comply with internal and external developments
  • Develop financial models to ensure sustainability of business
  • Management of the balance sheet - focusing in on Treasury, Liquidity Management and Capital Ratios
  • Preparing statutory financial statements in line with FRS102
  • Appropriate controls on reconciliations are reviewed
  • Monthly and quarterly management accounts, reports and MI are accurate and presented to board
  • Monthly and quarterly board reports including KPI's, variance analysis, forecasts and commentary
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Monitoring cash-flow
  • Relationship management with senior stakeholders internal and external
  • Risk management and governance

Person spec:

  • An accountancy qualification ACCA, ACA or CIMA
  • Team management and leadership experience
  • Experience of working in banking and regulated financial services
  • GAAP and IFRS experience
