Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced3rd Line Support Engineerto provide high-level technical support and infrastructure management across multiple office locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, maintaining and enhancing IT systems, and ensuring optimal performance of the companys network, servers, and cloud environments. This role requires strong expertise inMicrosoft Azure Administration, Microsoft 365 Administration, Networking, Cisco, VMware, Meraki, and WatchGuard.

Key Responsibilities:Infrastructure & Systems Support
  • Provide3rd line technical supportfor IT infrastructure, ensuring prompt issue resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Manage, maintain, and optimizeWindows Server, VMware, and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Support and troubleshootserver hardware, virtualization, and storage systems.
  • Assist in maintaining and improvingActive Directory, Entra ID, and Group Policyconfigurations.
  • Work with the IT team tomonitor system performance, patching, and security updates.
  • Manage and monitor backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Networking & Security
  • Manage and troubleshootnetworking equipment, includingCisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi and WatchGuard.
  • Monitor and maintainLAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless network infrastructure.
  • Configure and manageDNS, DHCP, VLANs and network routing.
  • Support security best practices, includingfirewall configurations, intrusion detection, and endpoint security.
Cloud & Microsoft Services
  • Administer and supportMicrosoft 365, includingExchange, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Manage and optimizeMicrosoft Azure services, including Entra ID,virtual machines, identity management, and cloud storage.
  • Troubleshoot and support hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration.
Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution
  • Diagnose and resolve complexhardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Provide escalation support for1st and 2nd line engineersand liaise with vendors when required.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of IT systems, processes, and incident resolution steps.
On-Site Support & Collaboration
  • Providehands-on support at office locations around the M25, includingWatford, High Wycombe and London.
  • Work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors toensure smooth IT operations.
  • Collaborate with theCyber Security Teamto implement security controls and patch management.
Required Experience & Skills:
  • Proven experiencein a 3rd Line IT support or infrastructure role.
  • Strong knowledgeofMicrosoft Azure Administration and Microsoft 365 Administration.
  • Experience with networking technologies: LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, DHCP, DNS.
  • Experience with vendors: Dell, HPE, Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Unifi and WatchGuard.
  • Virtualization expertise: VMware, Hyper-V.
  • Server and storage management: Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, SAN storage.
  • Cloud-based services: Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Security & Compliance: Patch management, endpoint security, firewall administration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skillsand the ability to diagnose complex IT issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Willingness to travelbetween office locations. (Travel expenses will be enumerated)
Desirable Skills (Bonus):
  • Linux (Ubuntu, Debian).
  • PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Database support (SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with FreshService or other helpdesk solutions.
  • Experience with IT compliance and regulated environments.
  • ITIL certification or familiarity with IT service management best practices.
Working Conditions:
  • Location:Office-based with travel to sites around the M25, includingWatford, High Wycombe, London and Dartford.
  • Hours:Standard office hours, with occasionalout-of-hours workrequired for system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Contract:12-monthFixed Term Contract (FTC).
