The Role:

West Herts NHS Trust at Watford General are seeking a passionate Band 6 Occupational Therapist to bring their expertise to its well established and supportive multi-disciplinary therapy team. Working on a long-term contract, you’ll thrive on finding strategies to meet a range of patient specific needs and goals, whilst providing exceptional care that supports our mature patients on their journey to greater independence.

What you can add:

  • To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including clinical practice, and for the work and clinical practice of line-managed staff.
  • Ability and skill to work collaboratively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team
  • To use communication skills of persuasion, motivation, explanation and gaining informed consent with a wide variety of patients.
  • Ability to teach and present to qualified / non-qualified staff and other disciplines, in groups or individually, using a variety of media
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives

What you will need:

  • Occupational Therapy degree qualification or equivalent & NHS experience
  • Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development and reflective practice
  • Be HCPC registered
  • Previous NHS experience is preferred but not essential
  • Full, UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes

In addition to experience, all Qualified roles will be required to provide evidence of:

  • Relevant Qualifications
  • Registration with the relevant Registration Body if applicable.
