Location:Watford
We are currently in the process of hiring a Quantity Surveyor to provide support and day-to-day assistance to the Senior commercial team on larger projects while providing commercial management to take the lead on smaller projects. You will be working for our client, a leading sub-contractor with over 20 years of experience working across the construction industry.
As a Quantity Surveyor, your principal roles and responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
- Preparing and analysing monthly/quarterly commercial costings and variations for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour, and time.
- Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
- Compiling all required paperwork from the Supply Chain/Site Management teams to assist in substantiating monthly applications.
- Ensure Measured works and variations costs are all recorded before application.
- Cross-check all invoices received for goods and services and approve for payment.
- Create and maintain commercial records.
- Manage any paperwork relevant to the supply chain, including payments, orders, insurance, and all other required documentation.
- Interact with all project site teams for timely recording of information relevant to works.
- Assisting the Commercial Managers in the collation of all required information and paperwork to enable Cost reports, Cost Value income & expenditure Reports, cash flow, labour budget forecast for resource planning, tracking payments to subcontractors, direct labour, materials and plant expenditure.
- Tracking and chasing up payment certificates in line with the payment certificate timeline.
- Must have 3+ years of Quantity Surveying experience.
- Effective analytical thinking skills
- Good understanding of all Microsoft Office Suites, High level of Excel experience preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
