The role:
- As Category Manager you will leverage category analysis tools to manage a portfolio of existing SKUs, reporting on their performance using key sales metrics such as sales, growth RSP and index, distribution, and rate of sales.
- The Category Manager will create and deliver the category vision, by action planning in line with key metrics and tracking performance to ensure optimal portfolio coverage.
- Leading market-specific targets for new product introductions, the category manager will plan & prioritise NPD projects in line with range blueprinting. Fully understand all criteria surrounding NPD with regards to cost, size, RRP, taste and positioning.
- Using relevant market data and insights and working with internal and external stakeholders you will develop a strategic plan that will deliver long-term growth.
- The Category Manager will stay aware of supplier, market and competitor developments and to take appropriate action to ensure a leading market profile is delivered.
- As category manager you will utilise insights to deliver on the voice of the customer, whilst aligning stakeholders on the category strategy.
- Work closely with the head of sourcing to deliver value strategies and leverage market data to lead the value proposition.
Ideal candidate:
- The ideal category manager must have at least 2-3 years of commercial experience in Marketing, buying, selling or Category Management in an FMCG environment.
- You will have strong relationship management skills, and have experience managing a complex, retail or convenience account.
- In addition, you will have a track record of landing category development and NPD opportunities.
- Working as part of a team you must have excellent relationship building skills you will be able to communicate and influence with internal and external stakeholders.
- You will have experience of writing and managing SMART action plans, and category-based projects
- You will have excellent planning and organization skills and will be able to work independently on your own initiative, a self-starter with can-do attitude
- Fluent English with strong interpersonal and presentation abilities to engage diverse teams and stakeholders.
