Technical Project Manager - Onsite Watford

Avanti Recruitment is working with a Software company based in Watford who are on the market for a Technical Project Manager. They are a Microsoft Gold Partner who have built a number of web and mobile applications used both internally and supplied to clients which has resulted in them moving into new offices due to further expansion and over £100m in turnover last year.

They use the latest technologies to be able to get the job done, with a strong development team focused on .NET Core and Vue.js. They differentiate themselves by concentrating on value-added services that mainly involve their development team in building faster and dynamic solutions for customers and in house software.

They are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager who can effectively bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience working closely with development teams, although direct coding experience is not required. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

This is definitely not a role where you will get pigeon-holed due to the amount of projects you can gain exposure to. They are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a collaborative environment and can communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Team fit is very important to them, and you will have the freedom to introduce new ideas and use your initiative.

Key Skills Required:

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Risk management and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience working with development teams on software projects
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Experience in the IT sector (preferably software development)
  • Microsoft Project or similar PM tool experience
