We are a well-established business that has been operating for 45 Years in the West Midlands, and are seeking a skilled Management Accountant to join our finance team. Reporting to the CEO and Senior Management Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of management accounting, overseeing a small accounting team, and enforcing strong financial measures and procedures.
Day-to-day of the role:- Produce management accounts, board packs, KPIs, Profit and Loss analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
- Manage annual budgets and oversee working capital on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Conduct cash management and cash flow analysis.
- Oversee purchase and sales ledger, year-end accounting, and manage bank and audit relationships.
- Handle basic leasing and insurance duties, prepare audit packs for statutory auditors, and conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
- Report to the board on variances in management information and oversee accounts processes.
- Ensure VAT and Tax returns are conducted in a timely manner.
- Analyse financial performance and provide variance analysis against budget and forecasts.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and accruals.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting or financial analysis, preferably within the construction industry or related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and cost accounting concepts.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
