Poolhall Recruitment are partnering with a construction business in Wednesbury for a Plant Coordinator. The role is full-time, permanent and pays up to £30k.
The hours of work are 40 hours per week, 08:30 17:30, the role is based in the office all week.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and IT systems
- Previous experience in plant control, hire desk operations, or a plant hire environment is advantageous
Role Overview:
The Plant Coordinator will manage the efficient procurement and delivery of plant and equipment for construction projects. You will ensure timely ordering, compliance with health and safety standards, and maintain effective communication with internal teams and external suppliers to optimise cost efficiency and support project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with project teams to assess plant and equipment requirements, ensuring alignment with procurement schedules and contract timelines.
- Manage the procurement of external plant, adhering to supplier agreements and negotiating rates where applicable.
- Raise hire orders through the ERP system and collaborate with site teams to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ensure all hired plant and equipment comply with health and safety regulations and meet company standards before dispatching to site.
- Verify suppliers safety documentation, such as inspection certificates, LOLER and PUWER compliance, and operator manuals when required.
- Serve as the main point of contact for addressing plant hire-related issues, including delays, incorrect deliveries, and breakdowns.
- Escalate any unresolved issues to Senior Hire Controllers when necessary.
Performance Indicators:
- Demonstrate cost-efficiency and value for plant usage, reporting on savings, profits, and losses while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations regarding plant hire.
- Prepare and submit monthly plant usage reports.
