About the School
This is a full-time role in a school for children with SEMH so behaviour can be challenging. The pupils are all secondary age so KS3 and KS4. The school aims to provide a supportive and holistic atmosphere.
The role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across all age groups within a progress school but don't worry, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area. The lesson will always be planned, and this will be provided in advance. It is your role as the Cover Teacher to facilitate the classes learning, management classroom behaviour, record accurate registers, and provide a handover to the absent teacher. Successful Cover Teachers are adaptable, flexible, motivated, confident, and organised, they have a passion for education and supporting young people.
Requirements
To be considered for the position of Cover Supervisor, you will:
- Have a willingness to learn.
- A passion for the progress of secondary school pupils.
- Be a natural leader and someone with confidence to lead a lesson in the absence of the class teacher.
- Hold, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service
