MACHINIST - MANUAL MILLER

Department: Milling

Main Purpose of Job:  To set and operate milling machines to standards specified by the company.

Relationships:

                a)            Responsible to: Operations Manager / Factory Foreman

                b)            Responsible for: Quality and standards of products.                                                   

                c)            Location:  Machine Shop

Main Tasks of Job:

  • To set, adjust and operate a range of Milling Machines to company standards.
  • To carry out manual and mechanical lifting in a safe manner to company requirements.
  • Work from and interpret engineering drawings and use inspection/measuring equipment to company standards.
  • Allocate and store components to various areas within the factory (i.e. storage).
  • Carry out routine maintenance as required or on a daily basis.
  • Ensure machines and work area are cleaned and tidied on a routine basis.
  • Ensure paths and gangways are kept clear and cleaned regularly with floor scrubber.
  • To set and operate a range of manual machines as and when required by the company or workload.
  • Complete any documentation relevant to the department on a routine basis, as required.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety Regulations within the company.
