We are delighted to be supporting Nene Education Trust in their search for an Interim Head of Estates to join them for a period of Maternity Cover.

Duties:

  • Develop and manage the annual estates budgeting process, working closely with school leaders, and other stakeholders to align financial resources with strategic priorities.

  • Monitor estates budgetary performance, providing regular analysis and reporting to support effective decision-making and resource allocation.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term financial plans, financial modelling, and scenario analysis to inform strategic initiatives and growth plans.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with estates teams, external contratctors, and funding agencies, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

  • Support estates teams in interpreting financial data, budget management, and compliance with H&S policies and procedures.

  • Lead the estates team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to ensure a high-performing and motivated team.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the estates function.

  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and effective communication within the central team and across the trust's schools.

  • Lead on business planning and continuity, capital programme, estate and asset management, infrastructure (including IT and sustainability), and ensure accurate and complete record keeping.

  • Lead the day-to-day management of the sites, striving for operational excellence.

  • Ensure effective systems of control and management of risk are in place and being implemented effectively

  • Ensure outstanding educational provision in all our schools and removing any non-teaching barriers that prevent this happening.

  • Advise the Chief Executive and oversee academies on all matters relating to the development, funding and management of capital works on the sites.

  • Identify and prioritise capital spending requirements and the acquisition and spending of capital grants.

  • Oversee the effective management and maintenance of the Trust’s sites, grounds and buildings and their security.

  • Health and safety ensuring compliance

  • Ensure all legal agreements for services, supplies, leases etc. are structured appropriately and in the best interests of the Trust
